FishDaddy, the Virtual Fisher Guide

Everything you need to play Virtual Fisher well.

From your very first cast to max prestige, in one page. Start at the top and drill into the detail only when you want it. New players: just read Quick Start and fish. Veterans: jump to The Math or Endgame.

Current for live bot v1.19.6.4. An Abyss biome is in beta and is flagged as upcoming where relevant.

1 Quick Start #

New here? You can be fishing in under two minutes.

  1. Run /play to open your hub, then /fish to cast. Fish are caught automatically.
  2. Sell with /sell all to turn your catch into money.
  3. Spend it in /shop on rods, boats, and upgrades. Better gear means more fish and more money.
  4. Level up and repeat. Leveling unlocks new biomes, baits, and whole systems as you climb.
Four free wins on day one: join a clan (free passive buffs), join the official Virtual Fisher Discord for a permanent +5% fish boost, and run /daily and /vote every day. All free.
Never automate. Macros, auto-clickers, and bots risk a permanent ban. When a captcha appears, solve it by hand quickly with /verify. Play fair and your account stays safe.
Play on mobile. Most experienced players run Virtual Fisher on the Discord mobile app, and this guide is built mobile-first to match.

Your First Prestige: a step-by-step path #

Brand new? Follow this exact route from your first cast to your first prestige (P0 to P1). Tap each stage to open it; the numbered reference sections below have the full detail on anything mentioned here.

Your finish line (P0 to P1): reach level 250, max all 8 charms, and bank $5,000,000,000 ($5B). Meet all three, run /prestige, and you become Prestige 1. /prestige always shows your exact remaining targets.
Stage 0 · Set yourself up to win (do this first)
  • Join a clan right away, any clan with good buffs. Free passive power, no downside (see Clans).
  • Join the official Virtual Fisher Discord for a permanent +5% fish boost.
  • Run /daily and /vote every single day. The rewards add up fast and a streak improves them.
  • Play on mobile if you can; it is faster to tap through.
  • Never automate, and solve captchas promptly with /verify. Automation gets you banned.
  • Always keep a bait and a pet equipped, and do not over-buy upgrades; follow the path below.
Stage 1 · River grind (levels 1 to 50)

Fish, sell, buy the next rod, repeat. Buy the Salesman upgrade right before each rod (it raises your sell price so you afford the rod faster), then keep moving. Skip other upgrades for now.

Rod path: Plastic (free, start) → Improved ($500) → Steel ($8K, needs Salesman 1) → Fiberglass ($50K, needs Salesman 3) → skip Heavy → Alloy ($250K) → Lava ($1M). Buy each as soon as you can afford it (full table in Rods).

Bait by level (see Baits): no bait on the starter Plastic rod, then Worms (levels 1 to 9), then Leeches (10 to 39). Buy a few hundred at a time and never run dry.

Pet: equip whatever you find. Early on money matters most, so prefer Puffer > Zebrafish > Tuna > Dolphin > Axolotl.

At level 20, charms begin dropping from chests (you will grind them hard later). At level 50 with the Lava rod equipped, you can move to the next biome.

Stage 2 · Volcanic biome (levels 50 to 100)

At level 50 with the Lava rod, switch to Volcanic using /biome. It adds a little cooldown but pays much better, and it unlocks the Special Shop (/shop special), buy Fish Ovens with your Lava exotic fish for extra sell price.

Rods continue: Magma ($10M) → Oceanium ($75M). Keep buying Salesman just before each rod.

Bait: switch to Fish bait at level 40, then Magic bait at level 80, your workhorse from here on.

Boosts: once you have a steady supply of emerald fish, start running a Fish Boost. Never spend gold fish on boosts, save gold for the Statistician upgrade later (see Boosts).

Stage 3 · Ocean and the charm grind (levels 100 to 250)

At level 100, switch to the Ocean biome. Buy the Golden rod ($120M), its very high treasure chance makes it the rod to start your serious charm grind.

Charm-grind setup (see Treasure & Charms): Golden rod + Artifact Magnet bait + Axolotl pet + a Treasure Boost + your clan's chest-quality buff. That stack maximizes treasure, which is where charms come from.

Goal of this stage: max all 8 charms (at P0 each caps at tier 10, a modest grind, not the endgame slog), keep leveling toward 250, and let your money climb toward $5B. Track it anytime with /charms and /prestige.

Need levels faster near the end? Swap to Wise bait (pure XP) for a stretch. Want free income while charm-grinding? Use worker manipulation (see Workers).

Stage 4 · Prestige! (the payoff)

When /prestige shows all three requirements met, level 250, all charms maxed, and $5,000,000,000, run /prestige to reset into Prestige 1.

You keep: your pets, your prestige-shop upgrades (you earn 1 Azure Fish to spend), and any league (hook) upgrades. Resets: money, level, charms, rods (except Plastic), boats, baits, and biomes (back to River). Details in Prestige.

It gets faster every cycle. Spend your Azure Fish in the prestige shop (start with International Ties), then run this same path again, quicker each time. That is the road all the way to Prestige 135.

Prestiges 1 to 4: the same loop, bigger and faster

Every prestige repeats the same path, re-level, grind charms, hit the gate, reset, but the buffs you keep (pets, prestige shop, hooks) make each run quicker while the requirements climb. The ladder:

PrestigeLevel neededMoney neededCharms (max tier)
P0 → P1250$5B10
P1 → P2300$20B11
P2 → P3350rises12
P3 → P4400rises13
P4 → P5500rises14

Charm max tier = 10 + your prestige, so each prestige adds one tier to every charm (a little more grinding each time). /prestige always shows your exact money target; from P1 on, worker manipulation usually covers it, so you rarely need a separate money grind.

Spend your Azure Fish (prestige shop) in this order

Each prestige gives you 1 Azure Fish for the permanent prestige shop (/prestige shop). Buy in this order:

  • P1 → International Ties (+10% to every multiplier, the best all-round buff)
  • P2 → Fish Whisperer (+25% fish catch)
  • P3 → Ancient One (+35% XP)
  • P4 → Business Education (+40% sell), or hold the Azure toward P5

At P5 the powerful Virtual Fisher upgrade unlocks (+40% quality, +20% sell, +20% XP) and upgrade caps start rising, so you can begin buying second copies. P5 is also when the Supporter rod becomes available (P5 or any donation), which speeds up re-leveling a lot. See Upgrade Trees.

Three habits that make every prestige faster
  • Buy Statistician at level 250. Each cycle, once you re-reach level 250, grab the Statistician special-shop upgrade (+2% to ALL multipliers per level). One of the strongest buys in the game.
  • Let workers pay the money. From P1 on, worker manipulation (see Workers) usually earns the money requirement for you while you charm-grind, so you can skip a dedicated money grind.
  • Don't overshoot the level. Prestige right as you hit the level requirement; XP beyond it is wasted. Time your last trips to land near the number.

2 The Core Loop #

Cast, sell, upgrade, repeat. Everything in the game feeds this loop.

Cast → Catch. Each /fish cast catches a batch of fish on a cooldown. Your rod, bait, biome, and upgrades decide how many and how valuable.
Sell → Spend. /sell all banks money. Reinvest in rods, boats, and the four upgrade trees to fish faster and richer.

The fishing cooldown

Your cast cooldown starts at 3.5s. Higher biomes add time; boats and the Haste charm remove it. It can never drop below the hard floor of 2.0 seconds.

cooldown = max(2.0, 3.5 + biome_add − 0.25 × boats − 0.05 × Haste_tier)

Cooldown calculator

How many seconds you wait between casts with your setup. Lower is faster; it never drops below the 2.0s floor.

How to read this
Every cast starts at 3.5 seconds. Your biome adds time; your boats and Haste charm remove it. The result is how often you can fish. 2.0s is the hard floor, nothing goes faster. If your number is above 2.0s, more boats or Haste tiers bring it down.

3 Commands #

The commands you'll use most. Tap Copy to grab one.

/playYour hub: profile plus a Fish button.
/fishCast. The main command.
/sell allSell your whole inventory.
/shopBrowse shops (rods, boats, bait, boosts, upgrades, special, league).
/buffsSee all your current multipliers.
/profileYour prestige, level, balance, gear, bait.
/charmsCharm tiers and progress (level 20+).
/petView and equip your pets.
/prestigeReset for permanent power once requirements are met.
/dailyDaily reward (level 10+).
/voteVote every 12h for a booster and a crate.
/questsDaily quests; special quests give hooks.
/clanYour clan menu, or clan help if you have none.
/verifySolve a captcha. Do this promptly, by hand.
Tip: type the rod/bait/biome name directly, e.g. /rod alien or /bait magic. Capitalization doesn't matter and the words "rod"/"bait" can be left off. Scientific notation works for buy amounts: /buy fish 1e6 buys a million.

4 Biomes & Fish #

Leveling unlocks biomes. Each adds cooldown but offers more valuable fish and new currencies. Higher biomes catch fewer fish (the "catch rate" reducer), traded for higher value.

Which rod should I actually use?
Money / XP: the highest fish-per-cast rod you can afford (Magma → Oceanium → Superium → Infinity → Floating → Sky → Space → Alien).

Treasure & charms: Golden early (13% chance, reachable in Ocean), then Meteor in Space (15% chance + 30% quality, the best charm rod in the game).

All-round: the Alien rod does both at endgame; the Supporter rod lets you skip several early rods.
Per-biome fish-quality tables (which rod catches what)

Within a biome, the rod that pushes more of your catch into the higher-value (rightmost) fish wins for money, even at similar fish-per-cast. Click any column header to sort.

8 Treasure & Charms #

From level 20, chests can drop charms, permanent stat boosts. Maxing all 8 charms is a hard requirement to prestige, so start the charm grind as soon as you have a treasure setup.

The charm cap formula and "vacant slots"
Each charm levels in tiers; tier n costs n charms, so maxing one charm needs n(n+1)/2 total. The max tier per prestige is 10 + p for p ≤ 99, then 2p − 88 for p ≥ 100. At P125 that's tier 162, or 105,624 charms across all eight. As you approach the cap, "vacant slots" mean already-maxed charm types stop generating, so charms-per-chest drops late in each prestige, and full-vacant chests pay money/XP instead.
Charm grind kit: Meteor rod (or Golden earlier) + Artifact Magnet bait + Axolotl pet + a treasure boost + your clan's chest-quality buff. Treasure chance, treasure quality, charm quantity, and cooldown are the four levers.

9 Pets #

Pets are permanent across prestige. Base max level 100, raised to 125 by the Pet Helper league upgrade. Always run your first pet; it's pure upside.

Buffs shown at level 125. Find chance is 1/10,000 per cast (pity kicks in if you have no pets); the median first pet is ~6,620 trips. Prestige adds +3% pet chance per level; at P135 the peak is ~1/1,010.

Long term, Puffer and Axolotl are the two staples (money and charms). Dolphin is the best pre-Supporter-rod starter; Tuna and Zebrafish are situational.

10 The Four Upgrade Trees #

An upgrade stacks with itself additively; different categories multiply with each other. Money and special upgrades reset each prestige; prestige and league upgrades, and pets, are permanent.

Clan upgrades (clan points)

Bought by clan officers with clan points (1 per 5 clan levels): Extra Member (×5), +10% Sell Price (×2), +5% Fish Catch (×2), +5% XP (×3). All maxed by clan level 60. Plus a hidden chest-quality buff up to 1.50× (see Clans).

11 Workers & Boosts #

Workers

Workers auto-fish for you: /buy Auto10m (8 gold, 10 min) or /buy Auto30m (8 emerald, 30 min). Base trip cooldown is 20s, down to ~10.53s with Boost Booster + Fishing Frenzy maxed. Set /set Worker after so the whole haul deposits when the boost ends.

Worker manipulation (the legit pro technique)
Set workers to "after," spend the boost on a treasure/charm setup, then switch to your best money/XP setup for the final moment before it ends. The entire duration registers under the money setup, giving free income while you charm-grind. Loadout: best money rod (not Heavy/Golden/Meteor), Fish bait (or Support at P50+ alien), highest-XP pet (Puffer > Zebrafish > Tuna > Dolphin > Axolotl), highest biome. Worth it once you have ~36+ emerald fish/hour. Manual only, never automated.

The emerald-fish economy. Run emerald boosts whenever you have a steady supply: 0-18/hr = fish boost only; 18-36 = add treasure boost; 36+ = add workers; 52+/hr = all boosts, always on. Never buy gold-fish boosts (save gold for Statistician).

12 Prestige #

Prestige wipes most progress in exchange for Azure fish and permanent power. It's the engine of the lategame, all the way to the current cap of prestige 135.

To prestige you need, all at once: all 8 charms maxed, a level threshold, and a money threshold. The charm grind is usually the long pole early; money becomes the long pole at high prestige.
Resets: levels/XP, money, regular fish, money + special upgrades, rods (except Plastic & Supporter), boats, baits, biomes (except River), charms. Carries over: pets, prestige-shop upgrades, league (hook) upgrades.
Worked example, P125 → P126: requires all charms (105,624 of them) + level 14,100 + $250 quintillion. At the top end, money is the real climb; charms and the level top-up finish well before it. Each prestige raises the charm cap and the money requirement, so cycles get bigger as you approach 135.
Routing per cycle: re-level fast (Supporter rod + boosts), grind charms with the treasure kit, then switch to the money/XP kit early since charms over-cap long before the money gate. Use worker manipulation throughout for free income.

13 Clans, Dailies & Quests #

Clans

Join or create a clan immediately, there's no downside. Clans grant sell/catch/XP perks and a hidden chest-quality multiplier up to 1.50× by clan level 60 (a major charm-grind boost not shown in /buffs). Max clan level is 60; all clans above 60 are identical. Up to 15 members with Extra Member perks.

Daily & vote

/daily (level 10+) resets at midnight GMT; the reward mix is roughly 20% charm crate, 35% exotic crate, 35% insta-fish, ~10% personal booster, with a rare global booster. Streaks improve rewards. /vote every 12h on top.gg gives a personal booster and a vote crate (platinum donors get enhanced votes).

Quests & hooks

12 normal quests reset daily (level-ups, fishing counts, chest hunts). One special quest appears per day from a pool of 7 (pet locator, fisherman, charmer, exotic fisherman, booster, artifact specialist, extreme leveler), each worth 10 hooks, the currency for permanent league upgrades. Quests are passive; don't grind them.

A clan that is bigger and more active climbs the clan leaderboard fast, because clan XP is the sum of all members. Recruiting active fishers multiplies clan output without any one account looking unusual.

14 The Math of Optimization #

The whole game is one shape: trips/hour × yield/trip × multipliers. Get the stacking right and everything else follows.

How multipliers stack

Within a single upgrade, levels are additive (two +5% levels = +10%, i.e. 1.10×, not 1.05²). Across different upgrade categories, the totals multiply. The Marketing charm is the exception: it compounds per tier (1.05^tier).

final = base × (1 + sell_sources) × (1 + catch_sources) × (1 + quality_sources) × ...

Key formulas

  • Cooldown: max(2.0, 3.5 + biome − 0.25×boats − 0.05×Haste)
  • Money/hour: (3600 / cooldown) × fish_per_trip × avg_value × sell_multiplier
  • XP/hour: (3600 / cooldown) × fish_per_trip × XP_per_fish × XP_multiplier
  • Charms to max one type: n(n+1)/2, where n = max tier = 2p−88 (p≥100)

Calculators

No other Virtual Fisher resource has these. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent anywhere. The defaults already show a real example, just type your own numbers over them.

Prestige ETA estimator

How long until you can prestige, based on the money requirement.

How to read this
Qi means "quintillion" (a 1 with 18 zeros), the scale money reaches at high prestige, so you enter everything in Qi to keep the numbers small. The estimate assumes a steady earning rate, so treat it as a ballpark. It tracks only the money requirement, which is the slow part up high; charms and the level requirement usually finish first.

Buff-stacking calculator

See how your bonuses combine, and why "additive" and "multiplicative" are very different.

How to read this
Additive bonuses in the same family simply add up (two +5% upgrades = +10%). Multiplicative buffs from different categories multiply on top of each other, which is far more powerful. The math: final = base x (1 + additive%) x multiplier A x multiplier B. The play takeaway: spreading investment across different buff categories beats dumping everything into one.
For exact stacking across dozens of sources at once, the community also maintains spreadsheet calculators (buff calculators, level-up sheets, manipulation calculators) linked from the cubex prestige guide.
